The story
Every autumn I take one trip with no client, no brief and no schedule. In 2024 it was the Dolomites — ten days with a tent, two lenses and a weather app I eventually stopped checking, because the forecast was always 'fog' and the fog was always the point.
Landscape photography rewards stubbornness more than talent. Most mornings began at 4:30 and produced nothing. But three times in ten days, the cloud sea broke at exactly the right altitude, and the towers of the Tre Cime emerged like ships. Those three mornings are this series.
The collection is available as a limited fine art print run of twenty-five per image, printed on cotton rag paper and individually signed.
Behind the scenes
Everything was shot on foot from valley bases — no drones, no helicopters. The longest approach was a four-hour pre-dawn hike with a head torch and 14kg of gear.
