The story
Anna and Theo eloped to Iceland in January with no guests, no schedule and a combined luggage allowance mostly spent on a wedding dress and a drone they never flew because the wind had other ideas. What they wanted from me was simple: proof that it was as wild and quiet as it felt.
We had four hours of usable light and used all of them — vows at a basalt cove, portraits in horizontal snow, and a dance with no music on the black sand at Reynisfjara as the sky turned the colour of steel and roses.
Their gallery is small by wedding standards — 140 images — and they've told me they wouldn't trade a single frame for a bigger crowd. Neither would I.
Behind the scenes
Gear survived sideways snow, sea spray and a wind chill of minus twelve. The secret is more wool than seems reasonable and a lens cloth in every pocket.
